If you are vociferous, you qualify to have the phrase “Turn that racket down!” used on you. It sounds like it would be some brutal executioner’s word, but it’s actually more of an old guy with headaches word. It’s just nice to say.

To say that A is veridical means that A does not contain internal contradictions. If A is veridical with B there are no contradictions in (A+B) and the tenets expressed in A either support or are in agreement with those of B.

The concept of “vitumen” just always seemed scarier, meaner, and more foriegn than so many similar, kinder words — like “venom” and “vitriol.” It has also always been in my experience one of the most obscure negative words, and thus it holds an especially warm place in my personal lexicon.
