Why not? The sum of intelligence in a certain community stays constant, not depending on the numbers of the members that make up that certain community.

Incumbent

Incumbent a. lying; resting upon as a duty; n. holder of benefice; vicar. incumbency, n.
Why? Because you can tell people that it is ‘incumbent upon you do do X and Y’, making you sound clever AND getting people to do things.

Ineffable

I like this word because I’m constantly frustrated with words and people continually trying to explain and describe things with them and in doing so completely ruining what they were trying to put words to. Some things simply are entirely ineffable. Also it’s kind of funny and hypocritical of itself because it’s a word saying words can’t describe something. WORDS! We can’t escape them.

Insatiable

It rolls of your tongue for something that will never come or that you can ever come close to. A thirst or hunger that can never be fulfilled, yet the word sounds so luscious and attainable. I think Daniel Johns put it well with his song, “My love for you, Insatiable.” my first encounter with the word at a young and tender age.

First, it’s fun to say — in-EX-or-a-ble! — and when pronounced with enough emphasis on that second syllable it’s very expressive of the word’s meaning.
Also, I like that it’s mostly made up of suffixes and prefixes, with very little left of the root “orare.” I’m not sure why I find this so charming, but I do.

Insouciant
In high school, a girlfriend and I would take the word on her word of the day calendar and try to use it in conversation during class as much as possible.
When I told one of my teachers after they asked me a question that her class inspired nothing but insouciance, I got detention for misbehaving and it’s been a favorite word of mine ever since.

Infinitessimal

Start with infinite, without end or limit. Now go to the other end of the spectrum. Still without limit, but so small, so close to being/meaning nothing, but still possessing some positive value: infinitessimal.
