Sweltering

Favorite Word: Sweltering

Why?: Although I don’t like weather that fulfills this endearing word, the sound of it is quite enjoyable. It rolls off the tongue with an easy satisfaction – swel-ter-ing. It begins with the smooth-sounding “swel”, continues with the gentle jolt “ter”, and ends with the always lovable “ing”. Simply put, the word brings happiness to my mind and ears and a smile to my mouth (which tends to repeat said word) when I hear it. “Sweltering”… Ahh.
