It means exceedingly idealistic; unrealistic and impractical. I just love that it has both a Q and an X. Not the most common letters in the world, but it sounds perfectly natural.

I agree with you, this is my all-time favourite word, and its origin only adds to its magnificence. Who doesn’t love Don Quixote?
