It’s shocking, outrageous and conspicuously bad. Well, the word isn’t, but what it describes is. I love the ‘ous’-ness of the word. And the middle two syllables that sound like a heavy metal object being dragged, screeching along a concrete floor. And my wife told me she heard of a book called I Always [...] It’s a soft marshmallow kind of a word, sounds like a low breath out – it conjures up an intimate image, and it’s just plain sexy.
