I find it amazing that a word used to mean “constantly likely to change” should be a word that has transcended the ages and never changed itself.

Friend of mine used to love saying. “F**KED by the FICKLE FINGER OF FATE”… wonder if anyone knows who coined this phrase… I had always imagined it to be a Monty Python sort of expression.
