In England we says “Maths”.
I prefer Math though. Rolls off the tongue.
“Do the math”…God I wish I could walk around saying that without being chastised.
I’m of the opposite opinion. The subject is “mathematics” therefore the shortened form is “maths”.
“Automobiles” -> “Autos” therefore “mathematics” -> “maths”
