Elucidate

Look at it! It’s elucidate! How much more awesome can you get than that? No more, that’s how much!

My fiancee -always- says ‘eludicate’ when he means ‘elucidate’… drives me crazy because I can’t seem to convince him that ‘eludicate’ isn’t a word. ;)

  • I think it is a common sign of borderline dyslexia (if not full on dyslexia). I have often caught myself doing the same thing – elucidate vs. eludicate. Problem is, “eludicate” actually sounds right to me, even though I know it is wrong; whereas, “elucidate” sounds wrong, even though I know it’s right… maybe with enough time, eludicate will become used enough so as to become right – such is the way of linguistic evolution
