It’s just so questioning and makes a cool sound when you say it. You can’t help but pronouncing it as you read this I bet.

What is not to like about it?
- It is as loving and innocent a word as there could be.
- It is one of those fine English words that end in “le,” thus suggesting repetition (compare “spark” to “sparkle”).
- It is rare enough but has an air of familiarity about it.
It means: To move (a small child) up and down on the knees or in the arms in a playful way: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/dandle

Butternut
Until about five minutes ago when I googled it, I had no idea what a butternut was or how it looked. When I was younger and used to read books about the American Civil War, I remember always pausing for a moment when the Confederate uniforms were described as ‘butternut grey’. It always seemed like such a warm, yummy color. I pictured the butternut as being sort of cold, hard, and gray, but the insides being some sort of a golden paste ideal for spreading on hot toast.
Now that I’ve looked it up, I’m sort of disappointed. It’s a squash.

Writings or reports not considered genuine. Some biblical connotation there as well, but it sounds so beautiful.

You have to work to get it out properly. Its almost like an ‘amuse guele’. It’s simply fun.

Tintinnabulation

I love the it rolls off of my tongue. It also elicits many questions from my students as to it’s meaning. I encourage them to look it up and come back later and tell me what it means. Since I teach band I quite often experience tintinnabulations.

I just love the way the word kind of rolls off the tongue. It’s almost instrumental.

It’s such a light word, involving such delicate tongue movements. It makes me think of brightness and lightness/airy-ness — like sun through clouds, “angel ladders”. Very pretty!

You can’t think about what this actually is when you’re saying it … just think about the word! It reminds me of Shakespeare for some reason … like Prospero, except more Italian-sounding.
