Crepuscular

Describes (animals’) habit of being active at dawn and dusk. Many interesting and otherwise cute animals fall into this category, including most of the common companion animals (dog, cat, ferret, etc.). Besides, the word just has a certain ring to it.

Is also used to describe things of, pertaining to or related to twilight :3

  • “crepuscular” comes from “crepuscule” for twilight; jazz legend Thelonious Monk titled one of his best-known piano pieces “Crepuscule with Nelle”. (Nelle was Monk’s wife)
