Pride

It can come in any form or size. It is what makes a hero but it’s also what makes a villain. Pride is the ground you stand on when the world’s weight is on your shoulders. Pride is your heart.

It reflects what I like most about existential philosophy. Authentic is how I try to live my life, how i judge people and things, and really just a cool quality to think about. What makes something authentic? Plus authenticity sounds like what it means, to me.

Not only is it a word about the very quality of an ssss-sound, it has two of its own. Terribly snakey to say!

Indeed

I love this word because one can pack so much meaning into it. Simply by tone of voice, a person can make this tiny little word convey quite a lot. It is indeed a useful word.

I just love that there is a word that means to throw something out of a window. Additionally, it’s a word that etymologically reveals its meaning.

From the Greek “[something] said only once.” A word which occurs only once in the written record of a language, in the works of an author, or in a single text. I’m just seduced by the concept of such a word. The thought of a word only showing up once in the entire written language… wow.

I love this word because it is one of the few truly ironic words in the dictionary.

Not sure if German words are allowed in here, but this one is worth mentioning. Roughly translated, it means “wife of the captain of the travel agency by steamboat on the Danube.”

Absolutely

The word absolutely is simply so assertive. It’s like perfect and absolute … even saying this word makes me feel very confident. It’s like ‘Its absolutely true, what else?’

My enjoyment of the word is purely based on sound. The meaning of the word is tragic, but fortunately rarely seen these days. It denotes the posturing due to spasms that can occur as a result of meningitis or tetanus infection. In opisthotonos, the back muscles are in such severe spasm that only the feet and the back of the head are touching the ground.
