The fear of long words… It’s even more ironic than the word “lisp.” Plus, the fact that i can say it without stuttering and spell it without error is a area of personal pride.

[Note: hyphenated only because otherwise it screws up the page margins]
[Another note: usually spelled hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia.]

I love the irony in this word. I looked up the derivation one day, from what I read, it could also be translated as fear of monstrously large words (sesquipedalian is apparently latin for long word). That just makes it funnier since this words is 36 letters long.
I created a word that is even longer than that one. It is pseudoantiinterdenominationallistically. It means an adverb used to describe the false feeling of being against the conjoining of various Protestant churches of different denominations. It could be related to the term antiestablishmentarianism.
another ironic word is dyslexia
maybe not
its kinda easy to spell
could be easier though know what i mean?
My favorite word too. i still have to spend some time on memorizing this though…
It’s pretty ironic how I haven’t seen or heard about this word in a year and a half. I read the fact of this word just yesterday and I can spell and say without any errors
I guess those spelling bees and tests actually did some good in my little life.
I did not understand … this phobia is the fear of long words? O.o this makes no sense!
